A few days ago I decided to do a Pilates workout. Now I hadn’t really done this type of exercise in a while, let alone with a 21-month old toddler. This drawing is pretty much exactly how it went, give or take a few moves. My daughter thought it was hilarious every time I did a rep and I couldn’t help but laugh. Why does she have to be so cute, dammit!
Pilates is really awesome for getting toned but if you haven’t worked out in a while (ie: me), you’re in for a world of suck the next day. My legs hurt so bad that moving off the couch involved letting my feet land wherever they may, crawling a couple of inches, then curling up in a fetal position to cry. But ya know, it was a good burn. After a few sessions it wasn’t so bad anymore.
If you want to get into it, I highly suggest checking out Cassey Ho over at Blogilates.com. I stumbled upon her videos the other day and it’s pretty great given that all her videos are free. She even has a beginner’s workout calendar with all the corresponding YouTube videos. Score! Her voice is pretty soothing in contrast to the sadistic intensity of the workouts… Ok they’re not really sadistic but if you’re a beginner or starting up again, you’re gunna feel the burn.
